Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is just about a week away from launch and we’ve got a couple of exclusive bits for you leading up to it. Bad Company 2 will feature plenty of maps right out of the box. 8 Rush maps have been confirmed by DICE Lead Exec. David Goldfarb. So far, we know about 10 maps in total. 2 of these maps could be conquest only maps, while the other 8 are full fledged rush maps. We've had numerous requests to go through in more detail about what kind of graphical features & options that exists in Battlefield: Bad Company 2 for the PC. So this is an attempt at just that.
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is based on Frostbite 1.5, but with multiple enhancements and a lot of specific effort spent on building it up and for the PC as this is the first time Frostbite is used on PC.
So QA found out a debug setting we used for logging errors was causing the CTD's after DICE left last night. As such the patch is good to be released and is going live within the hour.
Steam is now running the update as well for all Steam users.
You can update automatically when loading BFBC2 or you can manually run the updater from your install directory (run as Administrator if you experience update issues or errors)
my biggest beef with BF2 wasn't just shitty hitboxes, but general feel of unresponsiveness and floaty controls. Even on a great connection it always felt like I was losing packets.
this is definitely better in BC2. In fact I found shooting mechanics to be pretty friggin excellent, as far as sniping goes. WTG, dice!
